Natural gas is one of the main contributors to greenhouse-gas emissions in Canada and worldwide.
Full life-cycle analyses show that natural gas produces about 250 times as much CO{-2} as nuclear energy per kilowatt of electricity produced.
While it’s true replacing coal with natural gas would reduce emissions, replacing coal with nuclear, and leaving existing nuclear plants in place, would reduce them much further.
